At KicksWrap, we offer a Shoe Care Service where customers can request cleaning and installation of SOLE PLUS 3.0 on their behalf.
Among them, we often receive models that we are especially grateful to be able to see.
This time, we will talk about the cleaning process for a pair of "HEINEKEN" DUNK shoes, which were unofficially released by NIKE in May 2003 and arrived at Shoe Care Service .
When sneakers are delivered, they are usually sent in a cardboard box.
Usually, after opening the package, regardless of the model, I "calmly" analyze the dirt and condition of the sneakers, and then simulate the cleaning procedure and parts that I need to take into consideration, but on this day I was clearly lacking in composure.
As soon as I opened it, the green body and red star caught my eye.
The model that arrived was the NIKE SB DUNK LOW PRO "HEINEKEN". The office was in an uproar.
Needless to say, there was a lot of amazement, but it must have been pretty funny to see the bearded men getting so excited over the shoes.
However, when we received such a wonderful item, it was clear to see that the customer had placed their trust in Shoe Care Service , but at the same time, a sense of tension ran through our hearts.
The current market price for that deadstock item would probably be at least 1,000,000 yen.

Now let's start cleaning, but first let's check the condition.
Overall it is in pretty good condition, but it has definitely been worn, there is some dust (road dust) and the green nap seems to have become stiff, which is common with older models.
The customer seems to understand this situation, and as they have applied for a cleaning and leather care plan using hyaluronic acid foam (Foam Cleaner Premium), we will continue cleaning while replenishing the nutrients of the leather. Finally, we will carefully wrap the item in the wrapping that you have requested as an option .
First, use Deodorant Shoe Keeper to shape the shoes, then brush off any surface dust or dirt. If you don't do this step, the dirt on the surface will spread when you clean them, and they won't get as clean as you'd like, so it's an important step that's easy to forget.
We will start by cleaning using hyaluronic acid foam (Foam Cleaner Premium) . However, if the brushed material is very dirty, we will use a black Utility Eraser (sand remover for sneakers) to scrape off the surface dirt that has become tangled in the brushed material.
If you don't do this step, the dirt on the surface will be spread out during cleaning...
This time it is omitted as the nap is in good condition.
First of all, it is important to remember that cleaning puts stress on the materials that make up the item. The golden rule is to avoid doing anything unnecessary.
Knowledge to add is important, but knowledge to withdraw is just as important.
Once the overall cleaning is complete, we move on to leather care.
The important thing to remember here is to make sure the brushed material is thoroughly "dried" before applying Shoe Moisture Mist .
Most of the time, leather loses nutrients when it dries. This is because the nutrients are lost as the leather dries. There's no point in giving it nutrients if the nutrients are lost when it dries.
Spray Shoe Moisture Mist all over and massage with Cleaning Microfiber Towel .
Once the mist has been absorbed and the surface is no longer wet, you can begin the process of raising the hair.
This is where the Utility Brush comes in handy. Made of brass and horsehair, it can be used in a wide range of cleaning situations, and I find myself using it quite often. It’s really helpful.
To raise the hair, use a brass brush and gently brush the hair to raise it.
And then this happens... This moment is indescribable...
Ugh.
For regular leather, you can polish it using a Mouton Mitt , which, combined with the moisturizing shea butter, will give it a nice shine.
Once the Dryers, a Shoe Care Service bonus, are inserted, the wrapping process begins.
We use KicksWrap Premium, a shrink film with anti-UV properties, which blocks air from entering the sneakers as much as possible and protects them from UV rays that cause yellowing.
Shrink the shrink wrap with a heat gun and release the air through the hole at the toe (which will be tightly attached to the upper after shrinking and will not let air in). The wrapped premium sneakers have the same presence as if they were on display in a store, so they are also perfect for displaying at home.
What's more, the risk of yellowing due to UV rays is minimized, so there's no reason not to do it.
Finally, you will return the shoes in the complimentary Shoes Bag 2.0 .
This bag is also made with a fabric that contains activated charcoal, which has moisture-regulating and deodorizing properties, so we recommend carrying your sneakers in it and taking it around with you.
Well, this time, I was very honored to be entrusted with "HEINEKEN". I must continue to hone my skills as a cleaning technician so that I can continue to live up to the trust.
