-Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Kevin: My name is Kevin. I love sneakers and have been collecting them since I was in elementary school.

I often want to wear sneakers that are different from others, so I often wear original vintage sneakers or customized ones that no one else has.

It's the height of self-satisfaction.

Thankfully, we often see people talking about our metal custom AJ1s and AJ1s made from crocodile leather on Instagram accounts around the world.

I think my customizations are probably influenced by my love of Lego and Mini 4WD since childhood.

Especially with a Mini 4WD, there's really no fun in racing it without customizing it, so customizing and wearing sneakers may have just been a natural thing for me to do.

I just want to enjoy life in sneakers. Thank you!

-Can you introduce us to your own brand?

Kevin: No. I'm a sneaker fan.

-What made you become interested in sneakers?

Kevin: I played soccer in elementary school (I was part of the generation that started the J-League), and that's when I discovered cleats, an item that comes in many variations and can be used to express yourself.

Starting with training shoes with J.League characters on them, I wore PUMA, NIKE, Le Coq Sportif, Adidas, Diadora, etc. I loved the fluorescent yellow lines on the Diadora Baggio model.

Later, my older sister, who is two years older than me, went to school in Shibuya and was influenced by the Air Max 95. Also, when I went to visit relatives living in Europe, she bought Adidas soccer shoes there and wore them . I think I became aware of the joy of wearing things that were not sold in Japan and that were different from other people's.

-How many pairs of sneakers do you own?

Kevin: I think it's around 400 to 500.

Sorry, I don't count accurately after 300 or 400.

-What are your favorite sneakers and why?

Kevin:

  • Air Max 97 (96Ⅱ?)
  • Seismic
  • Air Baking
  • Crazy Dunk
  • Air Jordan 1co.jp
  • Air Force 1 Acorn
  • Air Force 1 White Snake
  • The other items are sneakers that were customized by a craftsman.

(They are all important and cannot be ranked)

It's perfect for the high-tech boom of 1999 to the early 2000s and co.jp's products, so it's irresistible.

I especially love off-white Air Jordans, so I also like Virgil Abloh's work.

Also, Dior is very well made and is one of my favorite pieces as a collector!

-How did you learn to use KicksWrap?

Kevin: Instructions and Youtube. SHIN's Youtube is really good.

-Can you tell us what you like about using KicksWrap?

Kevin: I feel like I've come to like sneakers more, including how I take care of them.

Kevin: The care products are simple and stylish, so it's never a problem to have them all.

Also, they contain hyaluronic acid and other interesting features that make you want to try them out even more and take good care of your sneakers.

This time, I'm saying to the sneakers, "This has hyaluronic acid in it!" I guess I just like new things.

I also like vintage items, and I developed this product in collaboration with a professional customizer, but I knew both of the people featured, so I bought it right away. They have a good eye for the details, don't they?

-Why did you choose KicksWrap (your favorite product) and continue to use it?

Kevin: I like the stable quality of the products and their stylish appearance, which means they don't interfere with the room or storage space.

-How did you discover KicksWrap?

Kevin: I met SHIN at an event.

-What are your thoughts on your future relationship with KicksWrap?

Kevin: There are always new challenges and innovations, so I'd like to continue using it in the future.

It's nice that even though the lineup has expanded, the designs remain consistent.

Many of my favorite sneakers are from the late 90s, so I naturally felt a sense of affinity with Kevin. There were many stories about how sneakers and Kevin's background overlap beautifully, and I am very happy that someone like him is a KicksWrap user.
