Whenever NIKE released a new product, sneaker lovers would go wild on social media, and the days would be filled with information wars about leaked details, lineups, guerrilla sales, etc. I also have fond memories of being glued to my smartphone screen, hoping to get a chance to win sales overseas, using social media group calls as a base for friends in the area.
Of course, the release will be during the daytime local time, so it's not uncommon for it to be released at 3am in Japan.
In the midst of all this, it is no exaggeration to say that all sneaker lovers were desperately searching for information, and there was a pair of sneakers that they were after, even if it meant using rough methods (except for some foreign countries, and especially in Japan, no one gets physically hurt lol) and making some sacrifices (mainly the cold looks they get from their families).
That's the OFF-WHITE × Air Jordan 1 retro high OG THE TEN "Chicago"
The design was by Virgil Abloh, who was the founder and creative director of OFF-WHITE at the time. However, in 2021, he passed away suddenly at the young age of 41 while working as a men's artist for Louis Vuitton. Ironically, the news of his death has elevated this model, which was popular as a premium sneaker even before his death, to a literal "legendary sneaker."
Simply put, this is a sneaker that will go down in Nike history.

Now let's get to cleaning.
The feature of this product is the design of each part glued together by "reconstruction" which Virgil is said to have valued, and from a cleaning point of view, it can be said that the dirt, dirt, and deterioration that get into the gaps are very troublesome. That's why it's important to remove wrinkles with Deodorant Shoe Keeper .
Flip the parts over and scrape off the dust with Cleaning Blush , or focus on using Foam Cleaner and the bristles of the brush.
For most types of dirt, you can clean the device by performing this process thoroughly.
However, it is a time-consuming task, so it may be a hassle to do at home.
In addition, the mesh and sponge are exposed in some places, so the more you wear it, the more likely it will tear or fray. Although it has not been stated, there is speculation that this was done as a gimmick to enjoy the deterioration, including the yellowing over time.
It is easy to imagine that rubbing such parts with Cleaning Blush would damage them, so we applied Foam Cleaner to a Cleaning Microfiber Towel and scrubbed them. We proceeded as much as possible, assessing the condition of the parts.
The midsole was also cleaned using a Utility Eraser . Naturally, the midsole is always a point to clean, but this time we put even more effort into wrapping it in KicksWrap .
Dryers are included as a bonus with the cleaning service. Dryers are also included with the wrapping option. They absorb moisture from the wrap for up to 18 months, making them easy to store and highly valued by collectors.
It will be effective even if you just place it in the four corners of an average household shoe cabinet, so please give it a try.
Finally, we wrap the shoes with KicksWrap . This time we used the regular version. People who own multiple pairs of sneakers tend to rotate between them, so I get the impression that many people use it to wrap their shoes while they are resting. Unlike KicksWrap Premium , it does not have UV protection, but if you often tear them, we highly recommend the regular version, which has excellent cost performance.
Once you have placed the sneakers inside the film, cut off any excess film (a tip for a neat finish) and use a sealer to seal it tightly.
Next, apply heat with a hair dryer or similar to shrink the film. Please be careful not to burn your hands as a little bit of hot air will hit them, but you can get a nice finish by pinching the edge of the film where the heat was applied and slowly shrinking it while keeping it taut.
If you are having trouble with the finish, give it a try.
This completes the installation. The film is nicely stretched and feels great.
